OMG! That really puts me off Last.fm.
I can’t stand these genres popping out of the ground like weeds on acid (that is not a drug endorsement by the way… maybe a new genre though?). I feel like that is no genre now with more than a handful of artists in it. If there are more than 5 someone makes up a new genre.
I thought this was a predominately British phenomenon but apparently not.

I’m just glad to see Aretha Franklin appealing to the younger generation. Is she considered to be “Extreme Whalecore” or “Female Fronted Whalecore?”
